“This trip was amazing. First of all Fiona, our guide, was amazing! She spent the entire day giving us so much situational, historical, and geographic knowledge & was very eager to help us learn. She even took us to some spots off the agenda (viewpoints & highland coos) since we were back early! Can’t say enough grand about Fiona! The trip, itself, was excellent as well. We went on a sunny day, so everything was stunning. We got to see coastline and mountains, seals, Dunrobin Castle was great (although very packed), and John o’Groats was beautiful. It was relaxing and an all-around splendid time. Would highly recommend!”

“So much to tell on this jam packed Highland love affair. Our driver extraordinaire, Karen was amazing. She was passionate, articulate, funny and proud of her country. From the Highlands to the lowlands, Karen kept our group entertained with stories past and present, embellishing our tour with amusing tales, amazing scenery and an energy that was positive and infectious. A highlight for me was our time in the Orkneys. Not just the archaeology, which was spectacular, but seeing places only read of before. We sampled local cuisines, sipped on whisky, and laughed. What more could you want? Friendships were made and memories were created. You need to come to Scotland.”

“Our guide was able to pick us up and deliver us back to the guest cottage we were staying in. My mother was using a transport chair and our guide was super helpful in getting her to where she could get to everything that she wanted to see with ease. He was amazingly knowledgeable about the area and the history.”

“This was the most expensive tour we purchased while on our cruise, so we had pretty high expectations, but it sadly was quite disappointing. While the island and scenery is absolutely stunning our tour guide was over 30 minutes late, very mediocre, only doing the bare minimum, and seemed to just be going through the motions. The van was quite small and our guide didn’t always utilize the headset speaker which made it very hard to hear him speaking from the back of the van. Overall, very overpriced excursion and would not recommend to other travelers.”

“We had a wonderful time on our 8 day tour with Highland Explorer Tours. Although we drove over 1100 miles during the trip, we never felt like we were in the van too long, because we stopped every hour or two, and our driver/guide, Ali P., told stories about the places we were visiting, and we also enjoyed listening to and talking about her playlists. The scenery on the Northcoast 500 was stunning. We saw so many beautiful and interesting places each day. Although the van held 16, we had 13 people in the group, so it was very comfortable.
