Walk England oldest prison at Shepton Mallet. Sound boxes, a visitor guide, photo stops, and sobering stories in 1 to 5 hours.

“I would definitely recommend the guided tour, although I found it very informative I felt it was a little rushed and overpriced, (personal opinion is all) there were 13 of us in our tour. The staff are very friendly and all have wonderful knowledge of the prisons history. I enjoyed that you can walk around by yourselves after the tour had finished, as your tickets are for the whole day. They have a small souvenir area, although mostly related to the Hauntings. There is a small area where you can have lunch and a little kiosk where you can purchase drinks. Overall I would rate this as an excellent venue…”

“Great tour, more info than expected and guide was obviously very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject of the tour. Seems as though there is further scope for the subject and to save the underground shelter and improve the building above, so hopefully the council will helpfully input to preserve the project!”

★★★★★★★★★★4.3 · 156 reviews · 1 day · from $22

Wake The Tiger in Bristol: self-guided art park in an old paint factory with 40+ spaces, Meridia portals, and cafe breaks.

“There are no good ways to describe Wake The Tiger without giving away too much. It was very well done, there are a series of interlocking spaces with what I can only describe as art installations, but they are more than that. Lots of whimsey, surprises, interactive elements. I went with my husband and teen son and we all enjoyed exploring the space. There were a LOT of small children - who were all enjoying it too. I think, as adults, going at an adult-only time would have enhanced the experience, but it was still fun.”
