“Took my disabled child but was unaware I had to prebook an access pass. Only managed to get her on one ride the entire day and that involved me carrying her through the crowds as I was not allowed to take her wheelchair to the closest access point. Utterly disgraceful on the part of Alton towers. They said they did this from feedback received from other disabled users. I very much doubt that. They seem more interested in selling fast track passes and promoting use of their app meaning staff nowhere to be seen when help needed. Yes I complained at the end of the day but only after queuing…”

“The first day was fantastic as we were only queued for 15 minutes to get on each ride. The Friday was just chaotic waiting in an hour in each queue so we only managed to get on 6 rides. Really disappointed that the river wasn’t open.”

“I came in with my nephew, we loved looking at the animals, we did however think that the ‘Feed the baby T-Rex’ activity was not suitable for younger children, it was very loud and overwhelming, it may be more suitable for children aged over 6, my 3 year old nephew found it very distressing”

“A hidden gem in Birmingham! A beautiful family home where I could happily kick off my shoes, take a book from the shelf and sit looking out of one of the many windows overlooking the gardens. Lovely tea room serving light lunches, cakes and a variety of drinks. Access from the garden to Edgbaston Reservoir with a variety of water fowl. Another visitor had seen 8 herons the previous day!”

“This might not look much but it really is enjoyable and at times challenging. It shows hidden parts of Birmingham's past and the impressive and very visible new parts. It is great if you don't like following a group.”
